Our Purpose
The Northern Beaches Domestic Violence Network is committed to creating a safer and more informed community.
We have three key objectives:
Raise Awareness
We work tirelessly to increase community awareness and understanding of all forms of domestic and family violence/abuse, with the ultimate goal of promoting a culture of zero tolerance.
Build Capacity
We believe in equipping local service providers with the knowledge and resources they need to support individuals facing domestic and family violence/abuse. This involves professional education, closing service gaps, and ensuring coordinated service delivery across the Northern Beaches.
Advocate for Change
We provide a powerful platform for advocacy on domestic and family violence and abuse-related issues. Through our network, we strive to influence policies and actions that will help create a safer environment for everyone in our community.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to organisations that provide services and/or advocacy for people experiencing, or at risk of, domestic and family violence/abuse on the Northern Beaches. Member organisations can nominate one or more delegates to attend meetings.
Members can nominate a new organisation to become a member by providing their service information and contact details to the Chair. Services can self-nominate by forwarding a written Expression of Interest for membership to the Chair including a brief background on the organisation. Nominations for membership are forwarded to the next Network meeting for approval.
Attendance is open to local, State, and Federal government representatives that engage with services for people experiencing, or at risk of, domestic violence on the Northern Beaches.
If a member is repeatedly absent from meetings without providing notice, delegate or valid reason, their membership can be rescinded.
